Electrolyte Supplements

In mammalian physiology, the primary ions of electrolytes are sodium (Na+), potassium (K+), calcium (Ca2+), magnesium (Mg2+) and chloride (Cl-).

Dextrose (sugar) is not an electrolyte! Sometimes dextrose is added to electrolyte supplements in order to improve palatability, but should not be the major ingredient!

All higher life forms require a complex electrolyte balance between the intracellular and extracellular gradients among cells. These gradients affect and regulate the hydration of the body, blood pH, and are critical for nerve and muscle function.

Kauffman's Hydromax

(Electrolyte)

Kauffman's Hydromax contains proven rehydration ingredients (salt and potassium chloride) formulated to provide the proper amounts and ratios of sodium (Na), potassium (K) and chloride (Cl).  This basis for traditional electrolyte formulations has been uniquely combined with calcium acetate, lactose, fenugreek, magnesium oxide, and glycine to provide calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), amino acids from whey protein concentrate and energy to significantly enhance pre- and post-exertion recovery and rehydration.

Feeding Directions: Variable  dosing of Kauffman's Hydromax provides baseline, moderate or significantly enhanced support for varying intensities of sweating, exercise and environmental temperature and (or) humidity.

• For light-to-moderate sweating, light-to-moderate exercise, or elevated environmental temperature and (or) humidity, feed one ounce.
• For heavy-to-intense sweating, heavy-to-intense exercise, or significantly elevated environmental temperature and (or) humidity, feed two ounces.

Top-dress over feed or mix with water at the rate of one ounce per minimum two quarts clear, fresh water.  Some ingredients may float when mixed with water.

Kauffman's Hydromax Paste

(Electrolyte)

Kauffman's Hydromax Paste provides 'positive dose' support for a variety of sweating , exercise and environmental climates and may be administered pre- and (or) post-race or event.  The formulation is based on Kauffman's Hydromax (powder) and contains proven rehydration ingredients (salt and potassium chloride) formulated to provide the proper amounts and ratios of sodium (Na), potassium (K) and chloride (Cl).  This basis for traditional electrolyte formulations has been uniquely combined with calcium acetate, lactose, fenugreek, magnesium oxide, and glycine to provide calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), amino acids from whey protein concentrate and energy to significantly enhance pre- and post-exertion recovery and rehydration.

Apple-Flavored Electrolyte

This supplement provides a water-soluble mix of electrolytes in a palatable apple flavored base. This product provides an economical way to add supplemental Calcium (Ca), Sodium (Na), Chloride (Cl), Magnesium (Mg), and Potassium (K) to equine diets. Water-soluble ingredients are used to formulate this product to allow flexible use as a top-dress for feed or solubilized in water.

Orange-Flavored Electrolyte

(w/ Vitamins A & D)

This supplement provides a water-soluble mix of electrolytes in a palatable orange flavored base. This product provides supplemental Calcium (Ca), Sodium (Na), Chloride (Cl), Magnesium (Mg), and Potassium (K) in a formula balanced for equine use. Water-dispersible forms of Vitamins A and D have been added to combat deficiencies during times of stress. This product can be mixed with the daily grain ration or dissolved in water.

Salt Potassium

A blend of equal parts of sodium chloride (salt) and potassium chloride. Kauffman's Salt Potassium is an economical alternative for the supplementation of Sodium, Chloride, and Potassium. It provides a source of these two important electrolytes as a free-flowing, water-soluble mix.
